AHSS is committed to ongoing research in Hand and Wrist conditions. We have an established Committee with an enormous breadth of experience and enthusiasm. We are committed to the goal of encouraging and supporting as many members as possible to perform excellent research. We will provide advice and resources for members who require assistance.
2024 AHSS Research Grant
(applications open to members only)
Applications are invited from members of the Australian Hand Surgery Society for research grants to support research projects, both clinical and laboratory-based, that are relevant to the field of hand surgery. An AHSS member must be listed as the Principal Investigator on the project.
Up to 3 grants will be awarded a maximum of $7K for each successful application.
The winning applications will be selected by the Research Committee and members of the AHSS board and grants will be awarded at the annual meeting in May 2025. The grant recipient will be required to present the completed study at the following annual meeting of the AHSS and is expected to submit the work for publication.
Eligibility
The Principal Investigator must be a full member of the AHSS in good standing. Grant applications are open to all members irrespective of their background- members in academic/university settings and members practising in the public and private sectors.
All applications will be judged on a competitive basis, without regard to the academic rank or title of the investigator. The researchers involved in patient care must be certified to practise their profession at their institution and must obtain institutional ethical approval.
