The PFET fellow at the GCUH is attached to Professor Randy Bindra and Dr David Graham as the two primary supervising orthopaedic consultants. The team consists of two Consultants, a SET trainee, and a PHO. The fellowship sits within the broader Orthopaedic Department.There can be another upper limb fellow in the department although they are on a different team with more of a focus on shoulder and elbow.
Hand trauma and elective cases are managed by both Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery departments with collaborative care on complex cases. There is no separate Hand on call roster.This is a reasonably high volume public fellowship with a good mix of elective and trauma cases. There is extensive exposure to wrist arthroscopy both in the elective and trauma setting. There is also extensive exposure to complex hand fractures and soft tissue coverage of the hand.There is no brachial plexus work undertaken at the GCUH. There are dedicated didactic upper extremity lectures and journal clubs through the year.
Research Areas:
- Prof Bindra and Dr Graham are both committed to research and there will be support and opportunity for research as part of the fellowship. The spectrum of research is broad.Specific areas covered:

- Wrist
- Soft tissue coverage
- Microvascular
