Availability of PFET Positions:

  • Duration of fellowship: 6 months
  • Start dates: February or August
  • Number of positions – single position

Description of Progam:

  • The Fellowship will also incorporate some time at the John Hunter Hospital, a level 1 Trauma Center.
  • Case mix will incorporate elective and trauma hand and wrist cases, arthroscopic skills, peripheral nerve surgery, as well as paediatric hand surgery (McClelland).
  • The practice is co-located with Hunter Hand Rehabilitation Center allowing excellent incorporation of Hand Therapy experience.
  • Strong focus on teaching and preparation for independent Private Practice.
  • Number of consultants involved with PFET training (other than supervisors): Two
  • Orthopaedics Unit
  • Private
  • Case mix: Trauma, Elective, Hand vs Wrist: 50/50
  • Fellow’s Timetable: Clinics, Operating, Teaching, Meetings
  • At least three theatre sessions per week. Three clinic sessions per week. Two sessions of research. Two sessions will be mixed allocation.
